The Backstory
Everyday, women use scrunchies to put their hair up before doing something important; something they’re passionate about.
A doctor puts her hair up before going into the operating room. A chef puts hers up before entering her kitchen. An executive wants her hair out of her face before going back to the drawing board. And a mother ties hers back before taking care of her children. No matter what these women are doing, they all put their hair up before getting down to work.
We realized that no scrunchie companies really captured what a scrunchie represents. It seemed they all saw scrunchies as just another accessory, and therefore didn’t really care if they were actually getting the job done.
We believe a scrunchie is more than that. We believe it represents a woman taking action.
When starting Tailer, we surveyed hundreds of women and each said the same thing about their go-to hair ties:
They pull. They leave a bump. They damage hair. They hold too tight. They don’t hold enough. And after a while, they begin to stink. Literally.
So, we worked and worked.
And we tested and tested.
Finally we landed on a special activewear blend and a high density elastic that has a comfortable hold, won’t damage hair, and is machine washable.
Now we have a quality product and a growing community of women from all walks of life that time and time again, choose a Tailer when getting down to business, or as we like to call it:
